Evolutionary Morphology
Vertebrate Paleontology/EvoDevo/Functional Morphology
Welcome
I am Kohta Kubo, an evolutionary paleontologist with an interest in:
- Cursorial locomotion in theropod dinosaurs as well as other extinct tetrapods
- Evolution and systematics of Mesozoic tetrapods, including theropod dinosaurs
- Convergent evolution and developmental basis of the ankle musculoskeletal system in the dinosaur-bird lineage

Research topics:
- Cursorial adaptation in theropod dinosaurs during "mid-Cretaceous"
- Developmental basis and convergent evolution in the ankle morphology along dinosaur - bird lineage
- Paleobiology/paleoecology of theropod dinosaurs
Studying animals:

- Extinct animals: Alvarezsaur dinosaurs and other non-avian theropod dinosaurs, metatherians
- Experimental model animals: Chick, Penguin, Alligator, Chinese soft-shell turtle, Gekko
